The problem of multiple offices is just one important manifestation of conflicts-of-interest in Serbia, which ultimately leads to corruption. Serbia's Conflict of Interest Act adopted in 2005 is narrow in scope and poorly implemented. It still allows for the excessive concentration of power and the flourishing of party comrades' privileges.
