Project title: "International Institutions and Globalization of Russia's Regions"

 

Reporting period: January 2002 – April 2003

 

 

Main Activities:

 

1.      Research internships:

-         Sodertorns hogskola (The University College of Southern Stockholm), School of Baltic and East European Studies, March 2002. Main experts with whom I have contacted were: Professor David Gaunt, Professor Helene Carlback, and Professor Olav Knudsen. I gave a lecture in FOA (Swedish Defense Institution) on ’Russian Regionalism as Seen from Russia-EU Relationship’.

-         Copenhagen Peace Research Institute (COPRI). Main experts with whom I have contacted were: Dr. Pertti Joenniemi, Dr. Tarja Cronberg, Dr. Stefano Guzzini, Dr. Anna Leander. I have written a paper to be published in COPRI Working Papers Series entitled ”Ideas, Images and Their Producers: The Case of Region Building in the North West Federal District”.

-         SCOUT and Civic Education Project administered in Russia.

 

New areas of networking to be developed further:

-         the role of expertise in municipal and regional governance;

-         development of educational and public policy research institutions on the local level in Nizhny Novgorod.
