Main Activities:

 

1.      Research trips:

-         Sodertorns hogskola (The University College of Southern Stockholm), School of Baltic and East European Studies, March 2002. Main experts with whom I have contacted were: Professor David Gaunt, Professor Helene Carlback, and Professor Olav Knudsen. I gave a lecture in FOA (Swedish Defense Institution) on ’Russian Regionalism as Seen from Russia-EU Relationship’.

-         Copenhagen Peace Research Institute (COPRI). Main experts with whom I have contacted were: Dr. Pertti Joenniemi, Dr. Tarja Cronberg, Dr. Stefano Guzzini, Dr. Anna Leander. I have written a paper to be published in COPRI Working Papers Series entitled ”Ideas, Images and Their Producers: The Case of Region Building in the North West Federal District”.

4.      Research consultants and advisors. There were three scholars with whom I have worked most closely and who have served as most important commentators of my project papers:

-         Dr. Pertti Joenniemi, Senior researcher, Copenhagen Peace Research Institute, Denmark;

-         Dr. Olav Knudsen, Professor of International Relations, Sodertorns hogskola, Stockholm;

-         Dr. Jeronim Perovic, researcher, Center for Conflict Studies, Zurich.

It is my suggestion that first two of them have to be approved as my  IPF project mentors.

 

5.      Scheduled activities for the second period of the fellowship:

-         conference in St.Petersburg on ”Civil Society and Good Governance”, October 2002, under the auspices of ”Strategia” Center and Transparency International (paper on ”Regional Discourses on Anti-corruption Issues”);

-         regional conference on ”Rethinking Modernity”, Nizhny Novgorod Linguistic University and Instiute for Humanitarian and Political Studies (Moscow), September 2002;

-         expert seminar ”Globalists and Anti-globalists in the Volga Federal District”, Nizhny Novgorod Linguistic University and IREX, October 2002;

-         expert seminar ”Gender Security Issues in the Volga Federal District  Regions”, Nizhny Novgorod Linguistic University and Open Society Institute, November 2002.

 

6. Alterations. Taking into account the decision of the Zurich-based Center for Conflict Studies to reimburse my research trip to this institution, I hereby solicit IPF approval of covering one research trip to the Sodertorns University College in March 2002 from my project budget (no additional funds are needed).
