    The objectives of the project are to conduct an analysis of the existing system of legal remedies for internal control regarding the legality of administrative acts in the Republic of Macedonia; develop concrete suggestions for reducing the existing number of special legal remedies; introduce a concept of a new system of judiciary control over the administration into the Macedonian context; point out the need for further modification regarding the Macedonian Law on the Public Attorney (Ombudsman); and write a research and policy paper for the Macedonian Ministry of Justice, Ombudsman Institution in the Republic of Macedonia, Macedonian Supreme Court, Macedonian Constitutional Court and Faculty of Law in Skopje.     The objectives of the project are to analyze the best practices and case studies of civic engagement in Russia's regions; monitor civil society related changes in legislation and regulations; create a framework and working mechanism for civil society influence upon Russia's decision-making process on federal, regional and municipal level in order to make the system of Russian governance more efficient; and write a policy study incorporating the possible changes which will happen after the upcoming parliament and presidential elections in 2007-2008 effecting the provisions of the local governance reform for the relevant policymakers.
