25 January 2008

IPF Budapest offices to close, new program to launch in February 2008

The offices of IPF Budapest are to be closed as of April 1, 2008. OSI's new Global Fellows Program, a successor to the IPF, will be based at the Open Society Institute - New York and officially launched in February 2008. The new program will support a group of fellows working on themes relevant to OSI's activities and the values of open society. Fellows will be in residence both at OSI offices and other locations. Fellowship applications will be made available in February.  Selection is likely to take place in late spring with a first cohort of fellows expected to begin in the fall of 2008. For more information, please consult OSI's website ( in February.

OSI-Budapest remains committed to the IPF alumni and the policy network which came into being thanks to IPF efforts, and continues to function independently.
