2002 - 2003: Communication and social justice: Regulation of controversial content in Hungary
The objectives of the project are to identify concerns regarding the representation of disadvantaged groups with special attention to the poor in Hungarian television nonfiction programs; research contemporary media regulation standards and procedures with particular focus on British practice regarding controversial "reality TV" programs; identify a basic framework for the introduction of a self-regulatory process into the Hungarian journalist profession; and write a research and policy paper in the field of media content regulation for the Hungarian National Radio and Television Commission (ORTT).
