2004 - 2005: Intellectual property, public domain, and alternative compensation systems in transitional contexts
The objectives of the project are to examine the impact of global intellectual property (IP) regimes on the declining social importance of public domain; analyze the current transitional status of intellectual property regulation; map the emerging ideas, practices, and initiatives resisting the dominant IP regime with alternative voluntary compensation systems; and write a research and policy paper for the "Strategy for the Development of Civil Society in Croatia" project and the associated new public foundation supporting civil society development in Croatia.
