About the IPF Fellowship

The International Policy Fellowships is a program aimed to support analytical policy research of open society leaders of all ages and to connect these fellows with professional policy networks and opportunities. The program aims to improve the quality of analysis in countries where the Soros foundations work by ensuring that these leaders are able to conduct research in their home region while maintaining local affiliations and a high degree of mobility and intellectual freedom. The program is affiliated with OSI-Budapest and the Center for Policy Studies (CPS) at Budapest-based Central European University.

My research topic is “Corporate Social Responsibility in the Romanian Higher Education”. The project is in the area of Developing Socially Responsible Elites and the Challenges of Higher Education.

The objectives of the project are to explore business elites’ degree of exposure to socially responsible practices in the current higher education curricula of Romanian universities; devise recommendations for the Ministry of Education, universities offering business and economics majors, and the business community in Romania promoting the role of higher education in developing the future socially responsible elites; and to write a research paper and a 20-page policy study in coordination with the group advisor with recommendations for the Ministry of Education in Romania, the universities in four main cities (Bucharest, Cluj Napoca, Iasi and Timisoara) and the business sector in the country.
